Duravit – One Of The World’s Most Innovative Kitchen and Bathroom Fixture Brands

Duravit sets the standard around the globe

In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the different styles of fixtures available from Duravit, along with offering some remodeling tips and ideas from those in the know.

Meanwhile, who wouldn’t love to come home to a gorgeous private bath space designed just for her or him?

Although many of this manufacturer’s kitchen and bath fixtures can best be described as featuring a ‘modern’ or ‘contemporary’ look, one of my personal favorite styles is what is referred to as ‘eclectic.’ On the topic of an eclectic style, according to Lisa Frederick, a writer for the website Houzz, which contains thousands of helpful photos of home remodeling projects from numerous design professionals, “This playful, personal home design style shakes up conventions and bridges the gap between other looks. Here’s how to master the mix………”

We will elaborate on this subject below.

Now let’s dive in. First, we will take a look at just a few of the styles (or series) from manufacturer Duravit.

Let’s talk about ‘eclectic’ style – it “reshuffles the rule book”

Eclectic style design and the clean, classic lines of Duravit products can easily go hand in hand.

As mentioned earlier, we have some interesting information from Lisa Frederick, who writes for a homeowner’s remodeling-idea website called Houzz. Here is more on her definition of eclectic style.

“What it is: Eclectic style is the great equalizer. It reshuffles the rule book, mixing and matching old and new, East and West, luxe and humble, showy and quiet. It invites you to fill a space with objects you love and unique finds that strike your fancy. Simply put, it’s you, curated.

What it is not, however, is a free-for-all. If you toss a little of this, a little of that and a dash of the other into a room at random, it’ll look like exactly what it is: a mess. The liberty and leeway that make eclectic style so appealing can also make it tricky – you’ll need to be careful not to trip over the thin line between contrast and chaos.”

An example might be a very contemporary kitchen with a retro touch added. This retro touch might be in the form of appliances that look like they were manufactured in the 50’s or 60’s. Or, perhaps a modern bathroom with modern fixtures and an antique table or chair that complements the look of the rest of the room.

Award-winning collapsible shower – fold your shower out of the way against the wall

This award-winning shower is ingenious to say the least.

Have you ever wondered if a shower really has to take up all of that valuable real estate in your bathroom?

The EOOS group of designers is comprised of three gentlemen who think not. They created the OpenSpace shower for Duravit. The innovative shower folds away against the wall after use, hiding clutter like grooming products in the process and giving the user more room to move around. This is especially useful in smaller bathrooms.

The unit features a frame in brilliant chrome, which is mounted to the walls. Then, two large, self-locking glass doors are fitted into the frame. These doors can either be translucent or have a mirror on one side. The mirrored glass version helps to make the bathroom appear much larger.

Another visual advantage is that, in addition to the grooming products, the tap fittings and shower hose are concealed when the shower is folded against the wall.

The manufacturer suggests that OpenSpace is suitably combined with a tiled floor and ideal for combining with its DuraPlan shower trays. The trays are made of sanitary acrylic and are installed flush with the floor (without a sill.) This allows a seamless transition from shower tray to tiled floor and also enables the tilesetter to install the trays so that they are aligned with the tiles in a visually pleasing design.

Duravit isn’t just for the bathroom – selecting this brand of fixtures for the kitchen is fun and easy

Yes, Duravit also makes fixtures for the kitchen. Sink styles include the Cassia, Kiora, Vero and Starck K.

Per the manufacturer, the Vero series is “the archetype of minimalist form and a modern classic.” It is presented only in rectangular form and shows off the concept of ‘form meets function’ exceptionally well.

Now a homeowner can have these fine products throughout the home.
