Im a sucker for Mexican food, especially nachos. Can anyone tell me how to make the best nachos without ordering it from the restaurant? Currently Im in Dubai, and you know how much you need to spend if you keep on eating nachos at the restaurant for 4-5 times a week.
I don't mind looking for the ingredients as long as the recipe not complicated and it is simple to be prepared. Thank you for your suggestion.
I make them at home a couple of times a year. If you just want plain nachos, preheat your oven, lay out a small mound of tortilla chips, top with your favorite fixings (diced tomato, onion, black olives, black beans, jalapenos – whatever you like), top with some cheese (shredded cheddar, monterey jack, pepper jack, or cheeze wiz or nacho cheese in a can) and place in oven or broiler until cheese is melty and bubbling.
If you like meat, just make your favorite type of taco or burrito filling – ground beef with taco seasoning, carne asada (grilled steak), chicken or whatever you like. Use packets of taco, burrito or fajita seasoning on the meat to give it a more mexican feeling.
Once you take it out of the oven, top with salsa, guacamole, sour cream or whatever else you like and dig in. The great thing about doing them yourself is that you can put in exactly what you like and as much as you like of it.
