The Block and The Renovators Create Growing Demand for DIY Kitchens

(PRWEB) September 13, 2011

Television shows like The Block and The Renovators has, according to the flat pack kitchens manufacturer, Kitset Kitchens, given everyday Australians the confidence to both design and install their own kitchens as part of a home renovation project. Such is the growth in demand for their DIY kitchens, that Kitset has just opened a new store – its fifth.

This expansion, the company believes, is testament to the premium quality kitchens it is known to deliver to renovators, at prices and service standards that are difficult to match.

“Our kitchens are individually made-to-measure to specifications supplied by our clients.” said Peter Matarese, Manager of Kitset Kitchens Blackburn. “Designing their own kitchens allows renovators to express their individuality and, to assist them, we provide a Kitset Planning Guide to step them through the important early stages.”

Self-Install or Done-For-You Option

The TV renovation series have also illustrated, however, the frustrations that DIY beginners may face. Some people, the Kitset team has found, are great with design, but are challenged by the prospect of assembling their DIY kitchens.

Recognising this, Kitset offers two options: self installation or a done-for-you service by one of their recommended installers.

For those who opt for the full DIY kitchens experience, the company provides step-by-step instructions and a DVD. These take customers through the assembly and installation process from the time they receive their flat pack kitchens.

New Blackburn Store

The last week of August 2010 was cause for celebration at Kitset Kitchens, with the opening of the company’s fifth retail outlet in Blackburn, Victoria. The 14 kitchen displays feature a wide variety of kitchen styles and designs, and, says Peter, serve to showcase the superior quality of construction and manufacture that the company guarantees.

Kitset Kitchens’ other stores are in Moorabbin, Thornbury, Ballarat and Hamilton, and all have reported increased interest in DIY kitchens following the airing of the TV renovation programs.

Combination of Technology and Know-How

A leader in the Australian-made flat pack kitchens market, Kitset Kitchens, uses a unique combination of state-of-the art manufacturing techniques to keep costs to a minimum. They do not, however, skimp on quality.

“The materials used in our system are the same as those found in high-priced kitchen showrooms” said Peter. “The combination of Australian-produced cabinetry, doors and benchtops, along with quality hardware, creates a world-class kitchen.”

Peter believes that Kitset Kitchen’s high turnover gives them a real edge in negotiating unparalleled deals with suppliers, which it in turn passes on to the renovator. The company’s new Blackburn store, he says, will only increase that buying power.
